2010 Florida State Fair February 4 – 15 in Tampa
Always in Tampa, always in February, the annual Florida State Fair returns February 4 – 15, 2010 at the 319 acre fairgrounds located seven miles east of downtown Tampa at 4800 N US Highway 301, Tampa, FL 33610-7350 just off of Interstate 4.Established in 1904, the Florida State Fair showcases the state's best in the agriculture and equestrian industry. Discounted advance tickets are available through Sweetbay Supermarkets throughout the Tampa area now through February 3. Advance purchase tickets are $4 per child (ages 6 – 11) and $8 per adult (ages 12 and up) and are also available online. In addition to the midway rides, food, agricultural exhibits, and free entertainment, other highlights of the Florida State Fair include:
Helicopter rides in the original Batcopter from the 1960s TV series Batman
Florida Arts and Crafts Showcase
Florida Citrus Cooking Contest
Frog jumping championships
International village and talent stage
Four nights of fireworks displays
Elvis impersonator extravaganza
A tour of historic Cracker Country
Tickets for the Country Gold concert, scheduled for two performances on Wednesday, February 10, at 12:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., are $10 a piece and are not included with the cost of admission ticket. Musical artists scheduled to perform at this concert include: Leroy Van Dyke, Gene Watson, Jim Ed Brown, Helen Cornelius, T. G. Sheppard, and Jeannie Kendall.
Parking is free during the Fair. Gates open daily at 9 a.m. and closing time varies by the day of the week and weather conditions.
