Delray Beach Popular Without Being Overpopulated
Although the beach is an obvious draw, Delray Beach has other unique attractions, including the Old School Square Cultural Arts Center and National Historic Site, which house the Cornell Museum of Art and American Culture, Crest Theatre, a vintage Gymnasium and restored classrooms. Another notable tourist destination is the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens. The gardens were established by a group of Japanese settlers in the early 1900s, and then sold to the city by George Sukeji Morikami in 1977.
And since this is South Florida, there are still remnants of the more opulent era of the 1920s land boom. The heart of Delray Beach’s thriving Atlantic Avenue business district is anchored by The Colony Hotel. Completed in 1926, The Colony is a Delray Beach Historic Landmark that combines 21st century amenities with Jazz Age style.
